PROFILE

William Lawson was born on 27th February 1987 in Perthshire, Scotland, to his mother Margery and father William (Snr).

He has five sisters (Kathryn, Caroline, Victoria, Jillian and Geraldine) and currently lives in Perthshire, Scotland. He is a plumbing apprentice by trade.

By the age of just 17 years, he already had a number of titles and achievements to his credit, including winning the Chris Prime Memorial Trophy and the George English Memorial Trophy in 2003.

He was twice awarded the "Most up and coming Scottish rider", firstly in 2000 and again in 2001, and has won the Scottish Under 16 Championship.

In 2001, he raced for the Great Britain Under 16's in an international challenge against Germany.

This season, 2009, he will race with the Berwick Bandits in the British Premier League, having spent 2008 with the Edinburgh Monarchs as they stormed to title victory in the Premier League.

Away from the track, he likes to relax by playing pool and socialising with friends, mountain climbing, and cycling.
